Interest in electric vehicles (EVs) has surged in Australia over the last decade, fuelled by increasing environmental awareness, a broader selection of models, better price parity with traditional cars, and enhanced driving ranges. These trends are expected to boost EV uptake further into the next decade, supported by generous tax breaks and government schemes. In response to this shift, we've enhanced our BG Universal Super Cool® for optimal performance in EVs.
What BG Universal Super Cool® Offers
BG Universal Super Cool® is designed to protect against foaming and corrosion in the cooling system, maintaining its condition for longer periods between oil changes. The solution prevents the cooling system's metal parts from wearing down and corroding, thereby reducing the risk of engine overheating.
Extended Drain Intervals
Cooling systems in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) resemble those in traditional vehicles, including specific coolant lines and tanks for the hybrid battery. Despite these similarities, the coolant used in HEVs is identical to that in conventional vehicles. However, HEVs tend to experience more significant coolant degradation due to longer drain intervals. Our improved formula not only tackles this issue but also enhances performance in all types of vehicles.
Reformulation Efforts
The BG Research and Development Lab, along with our Proving Ground, has dedicated extensive resources to study coolants in current hybrid vehicles. To counteract the effects of prolonged drain intervals in hybrids, we've boosted the anti-corrosion properties of Universal Super Cool® by incorporating a mix of diacids. These diacids form a protective layer on metal surfaces, especially aluminium, preventing corrosion and damage within the cooling system.

Ensuring BG Universal Super Cool® remained compatible with all coolant brands was a key priority. The product effortlessly integrates into various vehicle cooling systems, meeting a broad range of needs while ensuring maximum efficiency and performance.
